Paul Staehle and Geoffrey Paschel are the two 90 Day Fiancé franchise cast members that fans find the most disturbing. Both Paul and Geoffrey had turbulent relationships on their respective 90DF seasons, and they have many similarities that rattle the show's viewers. While the TLC reality show is known for its outrageous 90DF cast members and their larger-than-life personalities, these two take it too far.
Paul first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 1, after falling in love with a Brazilian woman, Karine Martins (now Karine Staehle). Paul and Karine had an extremely volatile relationship on and off the show, as they constantly called each other out over social media. At one point in their marriage, they even got restraining orders against each other, and ended things for good after a video surfaced of Karine hitting Paul in front of their child.
Geoffrey, on the other hand, met his future Russian bride, Varya Malina, on Before the 90 Days season 4. After Geoffrey flew to Russia to meet Varya, the pair had their share of ups and downs, but he ultimately proposed at the end of the season. He also asked her to come back with him to the U.S. She had to deal with his love triangle involving one of his American ex-girlfriends, as well as the complete blindside of Geoffrey getting arrested. One of the most disturbing things about Geoffrey and Paul is the fact that they both have criminal histories, but were given platforms after being cast in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise.
Many fans feel that TLC should be doing more thorough background checks of its cast members, as it crosses a line to hire people who have been convicted of serious crimes on the show. Paul has served prison time, something else he has in common with Geoffrey, as Paul was convicted on arson charges. Paul was also caught in a scandal after he and his son were both reported missing, although he says it was a misunderstanding. Geoffrey has a violent criminal past, as his multiple ex-wives have accused him of rape. The former 90 Day star was sentenced to nearly two decades in prison after he was found guilty of kidnapping, domestic violence, and possible child endangerment.
90 Day Fiancé viewers were shocked that Geoffrey made it through the vetting process, as he has a history of run-ins with the law, dating all the way back to the late '90s. While some stars of the show are comically mismatched with partners, and breakups seem inevitable, both Geoffrey and Paul have serious charges brought against them, a fact that seems to be overlooked by the network. Certain 90 Day Fiancé cast members creep fans out or get on their nerves, but the two men truly disturb 90DF fans, and make them worry about their children.
